Murk-a-Troid - Demos in Limbo

Myself and Richard Herrell spent roughly a year putting Heaven's to Murk-a-Troid together on the odd weekday night here and there throughout. I'd show up with notebooks from high school to present day. He'd play a beat and I'd freestyle and read to a song.. Then take the copy home and come back next time and lay that track..and start a new one in the same manor. Freestyles and old ass writtens and even some on the spot write outs.. You can hear it and download it free here:

http://murkatroid.bandcamp.com/

there's also an Instrumental pack of H2MAT and an acapella pack for all you digital DJ's. spin me. HELP THE TEAM ! All is appreciated.

Now what follows is The Demos in Limbo pack !
These are alternate and first version of some of the songs and a few that just didn't fit in where we wanted them to or weren't as quality as H2MAT songs seemed to be. They have heart tho and might just ear worm their ways into your brains and hearts..um ears?
Thanks for listening, and reading, CRASH DDZ

Alright kiddies. Hold onto to your VW necklaces.. Tight roll them pants at the bottom.. and start the beer spewing as I take you back in time to the night me and my homies went to see the Beastie Boys at the Louisville Gardens.

First off I want to show you this Rolling Stone Archive which includes reference to this very show: http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/beastieboys/articles/story/6222767/rude_boys *Why does my url not work, ever?

They talk about how they were told not to put the big penis on stage here ha ha..

and how they did anyway...

I remember it like yesterday (I'm not exactly sure of yesterday's date either)

Myself and my good homies Dion Walker and Mike Roland went to see our newest heroes those knuckle headed rap brats Mike D Ad Rock and MCA...

We hung out front row through the loud punk rawk Murphy's Law and the Funk Punk of Fishbone and the Beasties were taking forever to get started.. We couldn't take the heat and went for drinks..

after grabbing drink i entered what may have been my first ever freestyle cypher.. at least of this magnitude.. there were 5 of us rapping like we were the stars that night. Out of nowhere a girl appears grabbing at my jacket crying..

She thinks I'm MCA. We keep insisting I'm not when one of the guys, who I just now noticed were all wearing red jackets and wind breakers, grabbed my arm and started walking me through the crowd yelling "Security ! MCA coming through !"

the gardens parted like the red sea and we ended up right back up front row center.. the lights went out and the real Beastie's emerged... People started yelling at us and even throwing cokes at us but we just laughed and stayed up front and rocked out for the rest of the show. We didn't even get wet ha ha

from the cokes anyway...

I'm pretty sure Mike put a girl on his shoulders only to find she had no underwear on... I remember him saying he wasn't sure if that was cool or not.but he didn't make her get down. :)

Good Times.1987.Good Times.

Beastie Boys - Make Some Noise

~Spoiler alert~ I go in depth here... Add on.

If there's a full length link pm so I can edit...
*EDIT FULL LENGTH CURRENTLY HERE:

http://www.movieweb.com/news/fight-for-your-right-revisited-full-uncensored-short-film

If you don't want to know the bugged out ending read no further,...

They come out the apt. Right after fight for your right.. Danny McBride as MCA, Frodo is Ad Rock & Seth Green is Mike D.. They come down the steps and see some famous people..They go out side and trip on acid with more famous people..they walk into a party at a swanky restuarant and grab up the wine bottle and arm wrestle with it until Danny McBride floors everyone and guzzles it...

Shit is amazingly def jam era Beastienes in e.f.f.e.c.t.

Ad-Rock gets stabbed by the chick that has the masking taped nipple scene in Gummo.
Chloe swimblehblahblahblewvince

she's stupid hot.

More famous chicks in the limo.

They meet future Beastie Men Will Ferrel Ad Rock (Should have been MCA) Jack Black should have been Mike D but was MCA. John C Riley was Mike D.. He should have been Ad Rock only because Ferrel should have been MCA... But they play it to a T. I don't know if it's officially 420 but I felt stoned the whole 25 minutes or whatever the beats slow up and speed up to normal throughout.. It's a trip. It's got a funky beat and I can bug out to it.

Anyway they dance battle each other and it's . Like the 2nd def jam record finally leaking amazing...

Then they pee on each other. In the mouth.everybody.peeing.It's funny to read..but to see?

It was perfect... Up until they pee on each other. Beasties shoulda showed up earlier and lip synched their own lyrics for a bit instead of the piss. But up until that part I was grinning ear to ear.. wow factor for days on the cameos alone.

Because the world is round...

It turns me on.

I've always wondered if they meant round like a pill? Round like an ass? Maybe round like a record? Because this piece of wax is dead sexy.

This a copy of the first record I remember ever buying that you could consider a "Mash-Up" which is the art form of taking an acapella from one existing song and adding a new back drop. Be it newly and specifically crafted for the recording or by using an existing industry beat. Think Danger Mouse when thinking of one with home made beats. As we all know, Danger, got in big trouble over sampling the Beatles. Big trouble and in the end big time. He's since went on to be part of Gnarles Barkley, Sparkle Horse, the Gorillaz etc. the man is a beast and started as a Masher Upper. Z-trip, Dj Wicked, Dj Wick-It, DJ Trouble are all known for the style.

This record has been labeled as a bootleg and as such there are really no rights to it that I am aware of. What follows are files of what is to be considered as a recording the playing of this record.

Back around 1997 I bought this wax at Ear X-tacy in Louisville, Kentucky. It's one of the coolest places in the 502 despite recently moving to a less cool building. To be fair when I bought it they were in a even less cool place than either spot. So maybe one day with your support they will be in an even doper spot again.. I know I hope so.I understand right now they are like millions of mom and pop shops across America... IF there are still a millions left I mean. Hmm..i wonder.

Anyway, Rip this and go support a record store somewhere. Support an artist and an establishment like the great ole American Record Store. Until then here's an roecrd I bought becaise it had Cerebus and the B-boys in graphiti on the cover.. When I got it home and found it to be a mash up of 2 of the greatest songs the fab four ever written and some tripped out Hip Hop beats.. It instantly became one of my top 10 favorite records of all time.Enjoy these copies of me giving this record a spin.

What to expect in the 2K11

Here's what to expect this year: More rips, More Video, More original content and a continuing strive towards excellence.

How's that for a resolution mission statement? We here at the Chop Shop Garage (by we, we mean me myself & I.. get it girl) are determined to bring you a plethora of entertainment. From live concert footage to scanned bits of the past and quantized music expressly squashed to the size that it will easily trickle through your iphone 4 ear buds.

I won't let the theft of my favorite camera of all time the Sony DSC H10, My Laptop, and more stop me from collecting & sharing everything I love from Local Music to Cartoon Girlfriends to Bums drinking on the street. What do the followers and accidental crossers by want to see hear/see? I'm a Record Head and a Hip Hop recording artist first and foremost in my own eyes. Let's go from there... Wu TAAAANG !!!

I was able to see Wu-Tang early in the year.. It rurned out to be a Great set off. I had seen Ghostface in Covington a Few Months back with Sheek Louch and that was a great show..Up front, Hands up.. Then Wu came and gave one of the best live sets I've ever been privy to and I've seen PE, The Beastie's, RUN DMC, Slick Rick LL Cool J, Brother Ali.. I've been to some great ones and this Wu Tang show fit the bill. All members were there except Rza... but we DID get ODB's son as an exchange and he made it at least as good as it would have been with Rza. At least ! :)

More battle rap videos and some footage should be forthcoming once I re-up for a decent camera ? What's good in the hand held handy-cam market ? I need to document.

Wanted to make a messed up Christmas song. So I did.

Here's what happened when I tried to make a Christmas beat.... A dark aural collage of slow mo Christmas mojo. Not so much heavy on the Ho Ho Ho as it is the slow slope of a freshly snowed roof of dysfunctional America. Jingle bells on Nyquil if you will. A Head Butt from the Red White and Blue to the Red and the Green. Take a colored vinyl piece, some MPC taps and a little eggnog with a zigga zigga of paprika provided by an evangelist on wax and a barely understandable woman in tears about her alcoholic mother's abuse viola a Christmas Classic for the most dusted elves in the pride... I think it's pride? A gaggle..no that's not right// a pack of elves ? A heard maybe? One thing for sure: Cyndi Loo Whoo never heard a jingle like this.

R.I.P. Eyedea

Last night the homie Noah23 came into town.. They were to be here this coming weds but cancelled the tour understandably...

So Noah came into town anyway and I was going to meet him out to kick it at Mag Bar... knowing we'd talk about Eyedea a little bit and that it was pretty much the main thing on my mind since the minute I found out Eyedea was gone.

I sat down and cried like a baby before going out. sobbing in what was basiclly an uncontrollable manner. It hit me harder than I imagined it would. I knew I felt bad... but as it hit me I knew it was real and we lost an amazing MC and PERSON. After my wifey came into my studio room and asked if I was O.k. I was able to regroup and go out... I went and picked up the homie Phil aka MC Kontrol and we set out to go kick it. I had a plan... We were going to find somewhere to rhyme.. Somewhere to go do what we loved.

I took my Lasonic boombox with me to a Mag Bar and they were gracious enough to let us keep it out back and do what we do around the picnic tables. We freestyled with some people we never met and about 4 other MC's I know from the ville... I got HAMMER'd like Stanley Burrell. paws. I looked at the fresh faces eager to get thier turn in.. Talking over one another once they couldn't hold back and thought about the fact that tomorrow everyone of us would cherish that night. Phil told me it was one of the funniest nights he's EVER had. I have to agree even with the pounding hedache I awoke with. (On Phil's floor ha ha...It was THAT kind of night..I couldn't drive and I'm glad the homie was there)

Drunk raps and emotion almost made me black out but I didn't and I actually have a pretty full set of memories for the night (I don't drink much at all) Such an awesome night of venting and just letting so much stress go. I needed it bad. I know alot of us need it bad.

I suggest to anyone copping with stress to freestyle to yourself about it. MC or not.. Don't even rhyme if it's not your talant just say to yourself what's wrong, out loud, and try to hit every angle from what's wrong to what will make it right. I'm a firm believer of getting it out and letting it shape the world around you. Even if it's just your own immediate world.

Eyedea... We miss you down here. I know you didn't make it back to the ville but I feel like you were there. I really do. I wish you were still here to amaze us with an off top freestyle... Or to tell me about the process of a new song or to just recall a battle we saw together or whatever. Your music will live on. You went out a LEGEND. With a large LOVING fans base. Now the rest of us here doing it should take heed and try to do it with at least 1/3 of the conviction and heart you did... and we thank you for your contributuions to this thing called rap. I don't claim to know you any better than the 5 or 6 shows we did and multiple Scribble Jam convos but I understand why Copywrite MIGHT have made the track that's been getting him mixed feedback. He, probably like the rest of us, saw who you were because you displayed it so untransparently. I hope that's why he did it. You pushed word schemes, Ideas, and energy through you live like I havn't seen from many other performers and I've seen thousands. I myself want to write a song about you.. I'm not. I know I'll have a line or something that reminds me of you and cats like you that I know that relates to it... Because you influenced us all. You connected with us all and didn't just rap in front of us you partied with us and fought against parties with us too. We believed in you and still believe in what we saw in you.

the Empire - the Empire 1997

Here is what I would guess is a pretty rare tape from the Empire Crew out of the 513 around the 97 time frame. Comprised of Theo, Tommy Knocker & Mr. Vendetta (the first ever Scribble Jam battle winner) & others. This crew was one of the many dope Natti groups that made it's city such a perfect host for the aforementioned Hip Hop convention.

From the EPMD meets Nice N Smooth feeling beat of What You Gonna Do to the Bizmarkie-esque R n B vocal stylings on Thing's Will Never Change this tape was a breath of fresh air when I would slap it in the Amigo ha ha.

The favorite track for me tho is the posse cut You Don't Want it Like that with 9 or 7 MC's trying to outshine each other.. You know how a good posse cut goes.

Get it here with covers etc.

It's funny I ran acrossed this now as I just uploaded a GANG of photos from this time frame including a couple of the members of this crew repping in 97's 2nd Scribble Jam MC battle. The infamous one with J.U.I.C.E., Rhymefest, Dose One & Eminem battling repeatedly for the final trophy. That trophy went to J.U.I.C.E. by the way. That's right Em took a few loses here & there too.

Check the photo's here:

Periodic Time Tables

Do you horde things? I'm hooked on Action Figures and Records and Cd's etc.. so much I do take photos of a lot of it. Anyway what follows are just simply magazine clippings I'm trying to talk myself into throwing away or maybe ebaying as a pack of memories for some ther poor pack rat....

Like everyone else I've been trying to de-cluterize my house and get rid of some of this usulessness.. DO I need 7 articles about Digital underound curca Sex Packets ? No, I don't but I can't throw it away. Unless of course I make a copy. Records, CD's, Cassette's they are everywhere in my garage... Sometime's I bring some in.. Copy them and sell or toss whatever it is.. I feel like I need to at least take a picture of this cool action figure my son has demolished before I throw it away ha ha.. I'm so glad I didn't have the option to to back-up everything I ever owned. Sure it would be cool to see every toy I ever had.. O.k... yeah. I may have a problem...

Tek Nyn Society - What the Funk iz up?

Tek-Nyn-Society was a group of kids from around the okalona area in the early 90's. I went to school with Detrick aka Trick Ice aka 3 and another kid Chris who went by Zero. When I'd Stay at my gradnmothers I'd ride the same bus as them. As always I'd have the walkman on and started talking to them about hip hop when they asked what I was listening to. I remember giving them a copy of a beat tape.. no originals stuff off the b-sides of other singles etc..

Later on we battled. My homie DJ Los bet these kids his turntables vs. thier reverb machine. I wasn't there and appaerntly they got into a heated arguement over who the better MC was between Zero and myself.. Ls threw a huge ass house party and we battled.. Trick came in with a keyboard and looped up a segment of more bounce to the ounce and we set off on each other. I gotta admit I wish we had been battling for that keyboard because it would be years later until I touched any production equipment. I WISH I had gotten started that early.. but instead after the house voted and a fight almost broke out we won a reverb that I have no idea whatever happened too?

The next time I saw Detrick he borrowed some music from me.. the Souls of mischief blue cassette the pharcyde maxi single with unreleased song PORK onit which Trick listened to and emulated by playing the melody himself on that same keyboard I think.. but you'll deffly recognize the lift.. He flipped easy and real quick like.. I remmeber being impressed with how quick he flipped the melody and didn't even use a sample outright at I if I recall right.. I never did get my cassettes back.Well, that sample would be the cornerstone to a local favorite "Whatthafunk is up?" backed with "the Sounds of the Nyn".

Trick brought a triple tounge style that no one else had at the time and a nasal tone flow that was part b-real part al b sure.. but dope nonetheless. This cassette sold out at camelot. record town and was played while MANY a kid cruised Preston. I saw a lot of copies of that fresh blue metalic tape. I'd also lke to mention M&M did production on this piece and called himself that waaaaaay before any of us knew of Mr. Mathers.(and the group Tek Nyn proceeded the MC Tech Nyn too)
